Vegan Papaya Steak

The Veganaut and I were watching Castle the other week when one of the characters, a fruitarian, was talking about how the juiciest steak around was a papaya steak. So we experimented and made our own!

  • 1 large papayaIMG_6340
  • seaweed topping
  • teriyaki sauce (find your own favorite vegan recipe)
  • side of asparagus and pilaf

Cut your papaya in to large slaps. Score the top like a steak. Coat with your teriyaki glaze and then sprinkle with seaweed seasoning. Cook at 400 for 30 minutes.

It was not the best meal we’ve made, but a neat change. I actually did not expect to like it as I am not a fan of cooked fruit, but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it quite a bit.
