I used to love it when my mom made chocolate covered pretzels every year for Christmas. This was my own recipe that involved adding peanut butter to the mix, which naturally improved it.
- 1.5 cups peanut butter
- 3 Tbsp margarine
- 3/4 cup confectionary sugar
- 1 and 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 bag chocolate chips
- 2 TBsp crisco
Next make small, 1/2 tsp sized balls and press them in to one pretzel, then press another on top to make a sandwich. Set on wax paper and once done put in the fridge.
After this has been in the fridge a couple hours melt the chocolate chips with crisco in the microwave (set for 30 seconds at a time and stir in between, probably will take about 2 minutes but make sure to stir in between every 30 seconds to avoid burning the chocolate).
Once melted, use tongs to dip 1/2 of the pretzel sandwiches in to the chocolate and set back on wax paper to dry, placing back in the fridge once done. Delicious!
