Vegan Fried Food Palooza!

Well I got a fryer for Christmas a couple years, and it actually was a good gift, but in all honesty I have used it once in the last 2 years. So the veganaut and I made a date this week since I am off: let’s have a fryalator week! We developed tons of recipes to try, so expect some more later this week on the blog. But for now I will overwhelm you with pictures from our first night frying, as well as one recipe. We made veggie tempura, fried mushrooms, fried veggies using a fish fry that was vegan, fried vegan cheese balls, and buffalo cauliflower bites! Most of the recipes were already available somewhere on the internet, but the fried specialty mushrooms was all mine so I will share that here.

Ingredients:

  • your favorite mushrooms (we had a container of button mushrooms as well as an exotic mixture with trumpeter, oyster, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 4 TBsp vegan mayo
  • 1/2 cup vegan bread crumbs

First make sure your mushrooms are all washed and in the size you want them to be. Place in a very large zip lock bag. Add in the floor and shake. Next add in the almond milk and mayo and shake again. Lastly add in the bread crumbs and shake. Fry on 350 for 3-4 minutes. So freaking delicious!!!
